Qinghai University


Qinghai University is a university located in Xining city, the capital of Qinghai province, China. Established in 1958, the university awards bachelor's degrees in the areas of economics and management, agriculture and stockbreeding, science and technology, engineering, veterinary sciences, adult education, and architecture. Qinghai University also offers 3 master's degrees in the agriculture and stockbreeding field. The university has a student enrollment of approximately 5,187. It is the only university in Qinghai province listed in the Project 211 program. It is a Chinese Ministry of Education Double First Class Discipline University, with Double First Class status in certain disciplines.

History

Qinghai University, is one of the universities within Qinghai Province. It is situated in Xining in Tibet Plateau. Qinghai University was founded in 1958.

Campus

The University campus covers an area of over divided into five districts. As the only multiversity in the province, Qinghai University offers a variety of courses covering a wide range of fields, including Economics and Management, Agriculture and Stockbreeding, Science and Technology, Engineering, Veterinary, Architecture, and Adult Education. The 6 colleges offer 33 specialized undergraduate courses leading to bachelor's degrees. The university can also award master's degrees in 3 subjects in Agriculture and Stockbreeding field. There are 45 laboratories in the university. Six specialized subjects and two of our laboratories are at the provincial-appointed level. Currently the university has an enrollment of 5,187, undergraduate in Science, Technology, Agriculture, Economics and Management.
Qinghai University has assembled a teaching faculty, among which there are quite a few scholars and experts. There are 930 teaching and administrative staff, of which nearly half are doing teaching and research work, including 43 national experts, 15 provincial experts and 277 professors and associate professors.

Library

The university's library, with its 10,000 square meter building area, is stocked with over 800,000 volumes. It published journals such as Transaction of Qinghai University, Qinghai Stockbreeding & Veterinary and Qinghai Science of Agriculture & Forestry. The construction of the campus net has also begun to take shape.
It is well equipped with first-class facilities, notably in the areas of science and technology.
Qingha University insists that scientific research should be combined with the development of the local economy. In the light of this principle, it has contributed to the development of the economy, the advancement of science and technology and the progress of society in Qinghai Province. Since 1996, the University has produced over 2,200 papers and over 40 works — more than any other university in Qinghai Province.
A building and developing plan geared to the needs of the 21st century has been made for the university and is being implemented.
