Rallapalli (actor)
Rallapalli Venkata Narasimha Rao, popularly known by his surname Rallapalli was an Indian film, character actor known for his works in Telugu and Tamil cinema. He received five state Nandi Awards, including the Nandi Award for Best Actor in 1976 for the National Award winning film Oorummadi Brathukulu, the Nandi Award for Best Male Comedian in 1986, and the Nandi Award for Best Supporting actor – Television for Ganapathi.Career
He was born in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh and started off his career in 1960 as a theatre artist before marking his movie debut in 1974 with Stree. He acted in about 850 films in a variety of roles, including that of a lead actor. He also worked as a staff artiste in Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He played pivotal roles in films such as Bombay and Minsara Kanavu in Tamil.Selected filmography
