Raymond Foster (priest)


Raymond Samuel Foster was a Welsh Anglican priest in the 20th century who rose to become Archdeacon of Wrexham.
Foster was educated at King's College London. He was ordained Deacon in 1943; and Priest in 1944. After curacies in Old Basford and Newark he was a Lecturer in Lincoln Theological College. After that he held incumbencies at Elston, Sibthorpe, St Winifred's Church, Kingston on Soar and Whittlebury. He was Warden of St John's College, Auckland from 1962 to 1972; and then of St Deiniol's Library, Hawarden from 1973 to 1977. He was Rector of Wrexham from 1977 to 1987.
