Foster
was
educated
at
King's College London
. He was
ordained
Deacon
in 1943; and
Priest
in 1944. After
curacies
in
Old Basford
and
Newark
he was a
Lecturer
in
Lincoln Theological College
. After that he held
incumbencies
at
Elston
,
Sibthorpe
,
St Winifred's Church, Kingston on Soar
and
Whittlebury
. He was
Warden
of
St John's College, Auckland
from
1962
to 1972; and then of
St Deiniol's Library, Hawarden
from
1973
to 1977. He was
Rector
of
Wrexham
from 1977 to
1987
.
