Ricardo Garibay Ricardo Garibay was a Mexican writer and journalist. He studied law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico , where he was also a professor of literature. He also served as the chief of press for the Secretariat of Public Education and hosted the television program "Kaleidoscope" on the Imevisión Channel 13 network, Imevisión. He was president of the College of Sciences and Arts of Hidalgo in Pachuca . His work appeared in the Magazine of the University of Mexico , Proceso , Novedades and Excélsior . He was a fellow of the Mexican Center of Writers from 1952 to 1953, and joined the National System of Artistic Creators of Mexico as creator emeritus upon its foundation in 1994.Biography Garibay studied at the Faculty of Law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico , but he also took literature courses at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of UNAM and El Colegio de Mexico . From 1944 to 1947, he was part of the Experimental Theater of the INBA under the direction of José Aceves. In the early 1950s, he was a fellow of the Mexican Center of Writers and the chief of press for the Secretariat of Public Education Education. He worked for magazines, newspapers and supplements such as Suma Bibliográfica , Magazine of the University of Mexico, Plural, Revista Mexicana de Literatura, México en la Cultura from Excélsior, Culture in Mexico ; Diorama of Culture ; the cultural supplement of Ovations ; Revista Mexicana de Cultura ; El Gallo Ilustrado ; and other magazines such as Siempre!, Plural, and Proceso. He made his entry in television in 1975, first on Canal Once and then on Canal 13 . channel 11 and then 13. Programs he created include Autores y libros , A los normalistas con amor , Poesía para militantes and Mujeres, mujeres, mujeres . He also wrote several books, including Cómo se pasa la vida which compiles his biweekly column from Diorama de la Cultura . Garibay received several awards throughout his career including: a French award for best foreign novel in France in 1975 for The House that Burns at Night ; the National Journalism Award in 1987; and the Colima Narrative Prize in 1989 for Taib .
