Richard P. Nielsen (health care)
Richard P. Nielsen PT, DHSc, ECS currently serves as the president of the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professionals. Prior to this he served as the chief physical therapist for the United States Navy. He has also served as the president of the Institute of Clinical Electrophysiology and as president of the Amer-Ken Rehabilitation Association operating in Kenya. He has also been an advisor to Operation Smile International and Vice Chairman of the Board of Reach the Children.
Nielsen received a B.S. in zoology from Brigham Young University and a B.S. in physical therapy from the University of Utah. He has a Masters in neuro-kinesiology from the University of Washington and a Doctorate in Health Sciences from the University of St. Augustine.
Besides his work with Reach the Children, Nielsen also founded another charitable organization called World of Difference.
Nielsen and his wife Jodi are the parents of five children.
Nielsen is a Latter-day Saint. Among other callings in the church, he has served in the presidency of the Chesapeake Virginia Stake.
