Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cranganore


The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cranganore or Cranganor and Angamaly was a Romanised East Syriac Padroado Archdiocese in Kodungallur, Kerala, India. This diocese is a product of so-called Synod of Diamper held in East Syriac Archdiocese of Angamaly and India. Its headquarters was first at St. Thomas East Syriac church,Cranganore Fort until 1662 and then at Puthenchira Syro Malabar church for more than a century. Mar Paremmakkal Thoma Kathanar, Archdeacon of Malankare Kaldaya Suriyani Church belongs to this diocese. Mar Poulose Pandari, Chaldean Bishop belongs to Puthenchira parish of this diocese. So many parishes of this diocese were half-Catholic and half-Nestorian.
