Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Paraíba


The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Paraíba is a Latin Metropolitan archdiocese, atypically named after the state of Paraíba, in southeastern Brazil, rather than after its see.
Its cathedral archiepiscopal see is a minor basilica, the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Snows, in the city of João Pessoa, the state capital.

History

As per 2014, it pastorally served 1,288,000 Catholics on 6,703 km² in 89 parishes and 8 missions with 151 priests, 37 deacons, 259 lay religious and 45 seminarians.
