Rory Palmer


Rory Palmer is a British Labour Party politician. He became Labour Member of the European Parliament for the East Midlands on 3 October 2017 and remained in this role until the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the EU on 31 January 2020.

Political career

Palmer was a Leicester city councillor for Eyres Monsell from 2007 to 2017 and deputy to the Mayor of Leicester Peter Soulsby.
In the 2010 general election, he stood in Bosworth.
In the 2014 European Parliament election, he was second on the Labour party list in the East Midlands constituency but was not elected. Glenis Willmott MEP announced in July 2017 that she would stand down in October and Palmer succeeded her.
