Roseate Reading
The Roseate Reading is a leisure facility in the town of Reading in Berkshire. It is situated on the southern side of Forbury Gardens, a public park in the town centre. It is a grade II listed building.History
The building, which was designed by Septimus Warwick and H Austen Hall in the Queen Anne style, was completed in 1911. It accommodated the administrative staff and committee rooms of Berkshire County Council, full council meetings being held in the assize court building next door. In 1980 the council moved to a new Shire Hall at Shinfield Park and subsequently it was converted for commercial use. After renovations led by the Waterbridge Group, a developer, it re-opened as the Forbury Hotel in 2006.
