Roundstone (band)

Roundstone is an English rock band from London. The band was formed in 2006 as Babygrand and consists of Dominic Scott, Alistair Watson, Andrew Morgan and Benjamin Salmon. They later renamed the band after Roundstone, an Irish village in Connemara, County Galway, because of their fondness for the west of Ireland.

Forming the band

Scott took a break from music after leaving the band Keane in 2001 to do an MSc in economics from the London School of Economics. Whilst staying at Goodenough College, he composed and arranged rock songs with his friend and a classical composer Morgan. They were joined by Watson, a concert pianist and later by Salmon to form the band Babygrand. The first concert was in May 2006 at the Electroacoustic Club in London with an additional string quartet, but the line-up soon developed into a more standard rock form.

Live performances

The original line-up had Watson on bass guitar and Morgan on keyboard but this was changed to the current set-up in June 2007. Roundstone has mostly performed on the London circuit including at the Dublin Castle and the Bar Fly in Camden, the Betsey Trotwood pub and Hoxton Bar and Kitchen.
