Russia women's national rugby sevens team
The Russian women's national rugby sevens team is one of the strongest women's rugby teams in Europe. Since 2013, it is dominating the European Women's Sevens Championship, winning the trophy five times. Internationally, Russia's best performance was in 2013, finishing in the quarterfinals.
The team resulted runner-up at the 2015 Canada Women's Sevens, after defeating Australia in quarter-finals and France in semifinals.
Russia qualified to the 2016 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament, but did not qualify for the Games as Team Russia was surprisingly defeated by Spain.Tournament history
