Ryu Eun-hee


Ryu Eun-hee is a South Korean handball player for Paris 92 and the South Korean national team.

Club career

Ryu led her club Busan BISCO to the 2018–19 Handball Korea League champion and won both the Regular Season and Finals MVPs. After the 2018–19 season Ryu left South Korea to join French club Paris 92.

National team

Ryu first gained attention in 2005 when she was first called up to the South Korea women's national handball team at the age of 15, and became the starting right back of the South Korean national team at the 2009 World Handball Championship where South Korea finished in sixth place.
Ryu competed in the 2010 Junior World Handball Championship as a member of the South Korean national junior team. She led her team to the semifinals scoring team-leading 63 goals.
Ryu was named to the team representing South Korea at the Summer Olympics held during from 27 July to 12 August 2012 in London, United Kingdom. Ryu finished her first Olympic tournament ranked third overall in goals. While South Korea had seized six medals, including gold in 1988 and 1992, in the previous seven Olympic women's handball appearances, Ryu and her team failed to win medals at the 2012 Olympics by losing to Spain 31–29 in double overtime in the bronze medal match. Ryu competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio as well but her team finished disappointing 10th.
Ryu took part in the 2019 World Handball Championship where South Korea finished in 11th place. Through the competition she racked up 69 goals and 31 assists in eight games, finishing runner-up in goals and tied ninth in assists.
