to extend passenger
service
from
Saint John, New Brunswick
to
Liverpool
. After serving as a
troopship
thru
World War I
she resumed passenger service in
November 1918
until 1931. The ship was then
laid up
at
Southend
by
the Great Depression
until
scrap metal
prices
rose
in
response
to
German rearmament
.
