Samuel Dresser


Samuel B. Dresser (November 23, 1831 - November 20, 1901 was an American businessman.

Life

Born in Bangor, Maine, he moved to Taylors Falls, Minnesota Territory in 1851 and was in the lumber and merchant business. Dresser moved to the Town of Osceola, in Polk County, Wisconsin in 1862. Dresser served in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1870 and was sheriff of Polk County, Wisconsin in 1877 and 1878. He also served in town government. He died in the town of Osceola.

Dresser donated land for a railroad and the area became a community: called Dresser Junction and later Dresser, Wisconsin.
