Sandyford House

Sandyford House is a large development in Sandyford, Newcastle upon Tyne. It was formerly the offices and meeting place of Tyne and Wear County Council.

History

The building, which became the offices and meeting place of Tyne and Wear County Council was built in the mid 1970s. After Tyne and Wear County Council was abolished in 1986, the building was adapted for use by the Department of Social Security. In late 2017 proposals were presented to Newcastle City Council for the conversion of the building into an apartment complex. The development forms part of the larger Jesmond Three Sixty mixed-use scheme.
