The School of Medical Sciences, University of Science, Malaysia was established in June 1979. Initially, the pre-clinical years were given at the Penang campus, before the new teaching hospital was ready in October 1983. The building itself is structured in a simple T-Shaped 8 storey building with a red coloring.
