Sean Richard Dulake is an American actor and director.
Career
Sean Dulake was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, to a British father and Korean mother. After studying theatre arts and business at Boston University, Sean moved to South Korea in 2007 to learn more about his Korean heritage and attended Seoul National University for a year to learn how to speak Korean. Two years later, he landed his first leading role in a Korean television series. He has played a diverse array of characters in multiple film and television projects ranging from the first doctor to establish a western hospital in 1880s Korea in the period dramaJejungwon, to a diabolical double agent in the Korean blockbuster action series, to a world-renowned chef who learns about traditional Korean cuisine in the family dramaFeast of the Gods. Dulake directed and hosted a documentary for Discovery Channel that explores the Korean Wave phenomenon entitled, which garnered him a Best Director nomination at the Asian Television Awards in 2013. Returning to English speaking roles, in 2014, he starred in a short filmexecutive produced by Michelle Yeoh entitled Morning Star and the 2015 movie Ktown Cowboys, executive produced by Ken Jeong, which premiered at South by Southwest. In 2016, Sean starred in and produced Dramaworld, a co-production between Viki and Netflix about an American girl who gets sucked into her favorite Korean drama through her smartphone. The show won accolades in South Korea, France, and USA, including "Most Popular Foreign Drama of the Year" at the Seoul International Drama Awards. A second season of 10 episodes was announced in July 2018 with production beginning in early 2019. He also co-wrote and played an American lieutenant colonel alongside Liam Neeson in the Korean War film Operation Chromite, which opened at number one in the Korean summer box office. The film was a box office hit in Korea, garnering a sequel The Battle of Jangsari set to be released in 2019 with Megan Fox and Kim Myung-min joining the cast.
