Serbia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008


was represented by Jelena Tomašević in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "Oro".

Before Eurovision

[Beovizija 2008]

The Serbian national final, Beovizija 2008, was held on 9 March 2008 and 10 March 2008 at the Sava Centar in Belgrade to determine Serbia's representative at the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Serbia in May.
Beovizija was hosted by Kristina Radenković, Branislav Katić, Đorđe Maričić and Nina Radulović.

Semi-final

Twenty songs competed during the semi-final on 9 March 2008. The ten qualifiers were decided by a combination of votes from a jury panel and the Serbian public.

Final

Ten songs competed during the final on 10 March 2008. The winner was decided by a combination of votes from a jury panel and the Serbian public. The winner was Jelena Tomašević with the song "Oro" scoring the maximum from both the jury and televoters.

At Eurovision

As the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 and the host of the competition, Serbia was one of the five countries directly qualified into the final on May 24, 2008 performing 23rd, following Spain and preceding the Russia it came sixth in the overall score board with 160 points, receiving the maximum 12 points from BH, Slovenia, Switzerland and Montenegro.
