Shūji Satō
Shūji Satō is a Japanese professional shogi player ranked 7-dan. He is a former executive director of the Japan Shogi Association.Satō is a former member of the Japan Shogi Association's board of directors. He was elected to be an executive director for a two-year term at the association's the 66th General Meeting in June 2015.Satō's promotion history is as follows:
- 1980: 6-kyū
- 1983: 1-dan
- 1990, October 1: 4-dan
- 1994, October 11: 5-dan
- 1999, July 9: 6-dan
- 2007, December 10: 7-dan
Titles and other championships
Satō has yet to appear in a major title match, but he has won one non-major title championship.
