Shamrock Bowl

The Shamrock Bowl is the championship game of the Irish American Football League, the highest level of American football on the island of Ireland, culminating a season that begins in March of the current calendar season. The Shamrock Bowl uses Roman numerals to identify each game, rather than the year in which it was held. For example, Shamrock Bowl XIII was played on 30 August 1998, following the regular season played in 1998, while Shamrock Bowl XXV was played on 31 July 2011, to determine the champion of the 2011 regular season.
Shamrock Bowl XXXI was a close affair with the Rebels scores coming from a touchdown pass from Quarterback Andy Dennehy to Wide Receiver Cathal Keane and the game winning Touchdown across the ground from game MVP Wellington Omorodion, who had 145 yards rushing on the day, and a pass completion for 25 yards as well.
Most recently, the Cork Admirals beat Dublin Rebels 18–16 at Tallaght Stadium, in Dublin to win Shamrock Bowl XXXII.
The highlights of the Shamrock Bowl are sometimes broadcast on NFL Sunday. Shamrock Bowl XXIV was the first Shamrock Bowl to be shown in its entirety on Setanta Sports.
