History

In 1998, on moving to Mumbai, Sumeet Hukamchand Mittal enrolled himself in an acting class while his wife Shashi Mittal made rounds of production houses. They soon met Rajkumar Barjatya of Rajshri Productions who asked them to develop a film script and ended up really liking their work and they gave their first break as writers. Shashi ideated and worked on the scripts and writing, while Sumeet was away at auditions or shooting.
The guidance from Rajshri Productions helped them develop their writing skills, and soon got an opportunity to write for Aruna Irani’s Zameen Se Aassman Tak in early 2004. Soon, in 2005, they became the writers for the first TV show of Rajshri Productions - Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki.
They had also written two film scripts for them. One was a love story named Meri Prem Kahani, and the other was an untitled project. Unfortunately, both were shelved.
Then was founded Shashi Sumeet Productions by Shashi Mittal and Sumeet Hukamchand Mittal in 2009.
In 2016, it featured in the ‘Limca Book of Records’ for its expertise in having back-to-back shows on Prime Time Television across leading General Entertainment Channels.
In 2016, they also commissioned to helm an eight episodes web series named Untag on Viacom’s Voot.
Apart from fiction shows they also produced some reality shows like Aji Sunte Ho, Rivals in Law and India's Deadliest Roads.
