CHONGQING SHINERAY Motorcycle Co., LTD. - is a multinational company for the production of cars and motorcycles of Chinese origin. This is the result of a joint project between the Brilliance Auto Group and Chongqing Eastern Shineray Holdings Co., which is also the manufacturing center of Brilliance Auto in southern China.

History

CHONGQING SHINERAY Motorcycle Co., LTD. founded in 1997 is a globalized motorcycle production enterprise. Headquartered at Hangu, Jiulongpo of Chongqing, the company covers an area of 300,000 square meters and has a total staff of more than 1500 people. With 120,000 square meters of modern production workshop and first-rate motocross circuit, SHINERAY specializes in motorcycle R&D, production, marketing, cultural goods development and off-road motorsport operation. Its products include motorcycles ranging from 50cc to 650cc, ATV, engines, and  parts and accessories.
The company is equipped with three international advanced level catenary assembly lines,two engine production lines, one general machine production line and one welding line. Shineray has an annual production capability of 500,000 complete motorcycles and over 800,000 engines. Shineray owns its independent research and development system and many independent intellectual property right technologies. Its off-road motorcycles have obtained over 100 national patents. The production and sales of Shineray off-road motorcycles has continuous ly ranked the first in the country for 6 years. In 2014, the export sales of Shineray motorcycles ranked top 5 among Chongqing motorcycle enterprises and top 15 in China. After years of development, Shineray has expanded its business to 31 provinces and cities in China and over 100 countries and regions outside China, with its products reaching out to Brazil, Argentina, Togo, Nigeria and Mongolia.

Key dates

In 1997, at a price of 7,000 yuan, a company called Hengya Motorcycle MANUFACTURING LTD was founded. Its first factory covered about 1,000 m2 and consisted of 80 workers and produced 11,000 sets of tricycles.
In 1999, the company began exporting fully built and completely destroyed motorcycles to Vietnam, thus increasing sales to $ 50 million per year.
In 2002, the corporation sponsored the Chinese Football Team for 5 million yuan.
In 2003, they paid for the transfer of football star Shao Jiayi to the German team Munich 1860, thus becoming the third sponsor of the team Munich 1860, after MOLY and NIKE.
In 2004, the international Shineray motocross team was officially established in Belgium. And later participated in many international tournaments. Shineray also reached an agreement with the Munich Corporation, under which Shineray introduced plasma engine technology. The production of engines was carried out under the supervision of British companies, thanks to which the production of engines from Shineray entered a new revolutionary era.
In 2005, Shineray motorcycles with an already built-in plasma engine system passed the Euro-2 test. This meant that Shineray technology met global industry standards that were much higher than in Chinese industry.
In 2006, they contributed to the creation of a small Dirt bike 110cc motorcycle.
In 2007, the name of CHONGQING Shineray Motorcycle Manufacturing Co., LTD was changed to CHONGQING Shineray Motorcycle Co., LTD.
In 2009, the international motocross team Shineray took the title of winner of the National Cup in motocross competitions under the age of 21.
In 2011, products were released with a continuously variable transmission and balance shafts, which significantly reduced the vibration and noise of motorcycles. Thereby improving their products.
In 2013, the XY125-10 motorcycle manufactured by Shineray became the best in terms of sales in the 125cc category
In 2014 Shineray recently leased Husqvarna's factory in Biandronno, Italy and acquired the rights to produce several of their models under the resurrected SWM brand.
Over the years, the company continued to develop and distribute its products in all parts of the world, thus establishing its place in the list of the best motorcycle manufacturers.
