Shioiri Station (Kanagawa)


Shioiri Station is a railway station on the Keikyu Main Line in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, operated by the private railway operator Keikyu.

Lines

Shiori Station is served by the Keikyu Main Line, and lies 49.2 kilometers from the starting point of the Keikyu Main Line at Shinagawa Station, in Tokyo.

Station layout

Shioiri Station is an elevated station with dual opposed side platforms serving two tracks. Most of the station is built on an embankment, and the platforms abut a tunnel towards the Yokosuka-chūō side.

History

Shioiri Station was opened on April 1, 1930, as Yokosuka Gunkō Station on the Shōnan Electric Railway, which merged with the Keihin Electric Railway on November 1, 1941. The station was renamed Yokosuka-Shioiri Station on October 1, 1940, and to its present name on September 1, 1961.
