Shri Alkheswar Mahadev Mandir


Shri Alkheswar Mahadev Mandir is a sacred temple of Alkeswarnath Mahadev.
The temple is situated in the village of Bera, in the Mathura District in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It was constructed by Jayas in ancient times. The idol of Lord Shiva was found in Alkheswar Kund in ancient time. A water pond named Alkheswar Kund is nearby. It is very famous temple of this region.

Festivals

A fair is organized in the month of march every year, the fair is holds the festival of Mandir, organized by Alkheshwar Mandir Samiti. Another fair takes place in Navratras of Chaitra. The temple and pond are centers of religious activities. From early morning till dusk devoted villagers visit the holy temple. Holi is another festival of this village.
Rasiya is integral to Braj culture. It is the tradition of folk-songs that describe the love of the divine couple Radha and Krishna.
Raaslilas of Mathura have become an integral part of Indian Folklore. According to popular belief Lord Krishna had danced with gopis on the banks of Yamuna river.
In the morning people greet each other with Ram-Ram.
