Sikhism by country
can be found predominantly in the Punjab state of India but Sikh communities exist on every inhabited continent, with the largest total emigrant population being in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. At 1.7% and 1.54% respectively, India, and Canada have the largest proportional representation of Sikhs. Outside of India, Canada is home to the largest proportion of Sikhs worldwide, forming a large representation of Indo-Canadians, as well as a growing minority of Sikh converts of various origins.
Despite centuries of emigration and a large Punjabi diaspora, as of 2020, the majority of the world's 30 million Sikhs live in the Punjab region of India, where Sikhism traces its roots.
