Skehana
Skehana is a small village in County Galway, Ireland. The name Skehana derives from the Irish Sceith eánach meaning "place of the whitethorn".
It is a half parish which is contained within the diocesan parish of Killascobe. An annual Arts Festival was held there in the late 1980s and early 1990s. A hurling club exists which, while having some successes over the years, has become stagnant in later years. Two public houses previously existed in the parish, though one has since closed. The ruins of an Anglo-Norman tower house, Garbally Castle, are located immediately to the west of the local national school.
