Small Club World Cup


Small Club World Cup was a football tournament held in Venezuela, with major relevance, between 1952 and 1957. A second period took place between 1963 and 1975 with official editions realized in 1963 and 1965 that were won by Sao Paulo and Benfica, respectively. In the most part of the occasions, the competition was played by four participants from Europe and South America. In the first period, clubs from three countries would win the tournament: Spain, Brazil and Colombia. Five clubs have won the trophy in this period: Real Madrid, Millonarios, Corinthians, Sao Paulo and Barcelona.
This competition is considered a predecessor of Intercontinental Cup, which first edition was held in 1960.
