Smith-Cotton High School


Smith-Cotton High School is a public high school in Sedalia, Missouri, in the United States. The school serves students in grades 9–12 in the Sedalia 200 School District. The current principal is Wade Norton. Athletic teams are known as the tigers, and the school colors are black and gold.

Sports and activities

Smith-Cotton is a Class 5 MSHSSA High School. Sports include baseball, basketball, cross-country, football, golf, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling. MSHSSA recognized activities include speech and debate and scholar bowl.
Non-MSHSSA activities and clubs include Team SCREAM, a competing robotics team, Math Team, Yearbook, Science Club, Envirothon, Cheerleading, the High Voltage Dance Team, FBLA, HOSA-Future Health Professionals, DECA, FCCLA, an International Thespian Society troupe, Book Club, Chess Club, Philosophy Club, Student Council, and a foreign languages club. The music program includes the Tiger Pride Marching Band, three show choirs, a symphonic Band, and an orchestra. They also have a Winter Guard International Winds group, known as S-C Indoor, and a Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, known as Tiger Battalion.
