As of the Census of 2010, there were 4,139 people, 1,517 households, and 982 families living in the village. The racial makeup of the village was 63.3% White, 16.8% African American, 0.6% Native American, 1.1% Asian, 0.2% Pacific Islander, 15.7% from other races, and 2.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 34.8% of the population.
There were 1,517 households out of which 31.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.2% were married couples living together, 17.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.3% were non-families. The average household size was 2.65 and the average family size was 3.28.
In the village, the population was spread out with 25.7% under the age of 18. The median age was 36.4 years. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 98.9 females.
In 2000, the population density was 2,586.1 people per square mile, and there were 1,628 housing units at an average density of 1,060.5 per square mile. The median income for a household in the village was $39,639, and the median income for a family was $49,279. Males had a median income of $37,078 versus $25,919 for females. About 3.2% of families and 6.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 2.4% of those under age 18 and 10.2% of those age 65 or over.
