Sowme'eh Sara


Sowme'eh Sara is a city and capital of Sowme'eh Sara County, Gilan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 40000, in 10,070 families.
Sowme'eh Sara is located on the south coast of the Caspian Sea, about west of Rasht, the provincial capital. This city has several universities, making it the second academic city of the province.
Rice has been cultivated in this region for many years, where some indigenous cultivars were conventionally bred by farmers.
