StackPath, LLC is an American content delivery network, cloud service and web application firewall
provider with headquarters in Dallas, Texas in the United States
.
The company was founded in 2015 by Lance Crosby. The company showed exceptional growth in 2016 and 2017, and has acquired and integrated services like Highwinds Network Group, MaxCDN, Server Density, Staminus, Fireblade, Encrypt.me, and IPVanish.
Demand for these services soon created a large CDN network hosting everything from popular web developer resources to large gaming networks, and video streaming. In 2019, StackPath sold its virtual private network services — including IPVanish and Encrypt.me — to J2 Global.
As of 2018 the CDN
consists of 45 full scale network data centers with 40 Tbit/s capacity, covering North and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.Founders and ownership
