History

Islamic College of Malaya was founded in 1955. KIM was built on a plot of land measuring approximately 14.3 acres located at Jalan Kota Raja, about a half mile from Klang.
The college was originally a palace, which was later donated by Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah al-Haj. He hoped that the college will produce scholars who fear Allah and this in turn illuminates the Malaysian society with spirits of Islam and to eliminate all forms of unbelief and ignorance there.
In 1966, the college moved to a new building in Petaling Jaya and Bangi, yet still continued its preparation courses in Klang.
In 1967, the college was taken by the Ministry of Education and had been made a government-aided school named Klang Islamic College. Finally, in 1972, it was turned into a fully residential school with great facilities until today.
In 1989, KIK was renamed Sultan Alam Shah Islamic College by Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah al-Haj. Until now, the former Sultan's palace is still standing.
KISAS was recognised as a Cluster School in 2007 and as a High-Performing School in 2010.
