Sunway College


Sunway College is a private college based in Bandar Sunway, Malaysia. It was established on 25 July 1987 by Jeffrey Cheah. It has a 10-hectare campus comprising academic and residential blocks adjacent to the Sunway Lagoon theme park. It is located approximately 16 km from the centre of Kuala Lumpur.
In addition to the Bandar Sunway campus, there are also colleges in Johor Bahru, Ipoh, Kuching and in Kuala Lumpur @ Velocity. The college offers a number of international sixth form, university foundation, diploma and professional courses. In some campuses, Victoria University, Australia undergraduate and postgraduate courses are offered as external and/or twinning courses.

History

Sunway College is part of the Sunway Education Group, which in turn stems from the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation. The Foundation is a registered charity, established in March 2010 from its predecessor Sunway Education Trust that was created in 1997. Besides Sunway College, the Sunway Education Group also includes Sunway University, Monash University Sunway Campus, and Sunway International School.
Like all educational institutions in the Sunway Education Group, the College has charitable status. Thus, surpluses are channelled towards scholarships and bursaries, as well as research grants.
On 25 July 2017, Sunway Education Group celebrated its 30th anniversary.
