Suphi Saatçi
Suphi Saatçi is a Turkish senior architect,restorator and academician.Early life
Saatçi was born in Kirkuk, Iraq in 1946. He completed his primary and secondary education in the same city. He attended the formerly named State Academy of Fine Arts in Istanbul, Turkey and earned his master's degree in architecture there in 1974. He attended the doctoral program at the Restoration Department of Istanbul Technical University's Faculty of Architecture, and graduated from the program in 1993.Career
After graduating, he worked as a freelance architect specializing in the field of historic preservation. He worked as a consultant to firms and institutions.
He became Associate Professor in 1994 at the Historic Preservation Department of the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. He became Head of the Department in 1997 and Director of the Vocational School in 2002. Shortly afterwards, he became Professor and later served as the Vice Rector there.
Later he accepted the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Architecture under the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakif University.
He presented papers at national and international symposiums and conferences, and authored many articles and research papers.Personal life
