Susan McDonald
Susan Eileen McDonald is an Australian politician who was elected as a Senator for Queensland at the 2019 federal election. She is a member of the Liberal National Party of Queensland and sits with the National Party in federal parliament. Prior to entering politics she worked as the managing director of Super Butcher, a meat retailer owned by her family cattle business MDH. During the LNP Newmann Government of 2012-2015 Senator McDonald was Chief of Staff to the Minister for Natural Resources & Mines. She also served a term as state secretary of the National Party of Queensland beginning in 2003.
Her father, Don McDonald, was the president of Queensland National Party during the 1990s and the president of federal National Party from 1996 to 1999. Her uncle, Bob McDonald, was a long-serving member of Cloncurry Shire Council, serving the council for 40 years.
