Suzi Ruffell


Suzi Ruffell is a British comedian, actor, and writer.

Biography

Born in Portsmouth to a working-class family, Suzi Ruffell started working on TV with friend Tom Allen as a stand-in for the Fun House twins. She began her comedy career in November 2008.
Alongside touring as a solo performer, Ruffell has supported Alan Carr, Josh Widdicombe, Joe Lycett, Kevin Bridges and Romesh Ranganathan on national tours and has appeared on Channel 4, E4, BBC 3, Comedy Central and Dave. She is also regularly heard on BBC Radio 4 on The Now Show and The News Quiz.
Since October 2015, Ruffell has co-hosted the podcast Like Minded Friends with comedian Tom Allen.

Personal life

Ruffell found school difficult and says that she became the "class clown" to hide her dyslexia. She has 4 GCSEs and an AS Level in Contemporary Dance.
Ruffell is out as gay.

Awards and nominations

Ruffell was nominated for the Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2011 and awarded second place in the Latitude Festival New Act Competition 2011.
A sitcom pilot collaboration with playwright Jon Brittain in 2012 led to a nomination for the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writing Award.
In 2017, she was nominated for Chortle Best Breakthrough Act.
