"Sweet September" is a song written by McGuffie, Kasha, and Mills. It has been performed by such artists as Pete Jolly, Freda Payne, The Lettermen, Howard Roberts, Joe Pass, and Sylvia Syms. The version by The Lettermen became a hit on Billboard's adult contemporary chart when released as a single in 1965. Payne's version was also released as a single on the Impulse Records label, but it failed to garner much success.
