Syntagma metro station


The Syntagma station of Athens Metro is located at Syntagma Square in the centre of Athens, Greece. It serves as a transfer point to the Line 3 with Line 2. It also serves as a connection point to the Athens Tram. When the Metro first opened, on January 28th 2000, the station was the terminal station for both the new lines. It is a transportation hub for O.SY. buses, for the Tram as well as for taxi. It is the busiest station of Athens Metro due to the fact that is it located in Syntagma Square which is one of the busiest in Athens, as it leads to Ermou Street, a pedestrian street full of commercial activity.
Several of the architecture works were erected by Thodoros Papadimitriou, a famous sculptor.
