Tadepalle Municipality


Tadepalle Municipality is the local self-government in Tadepalle town of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is classified as a Grade–I municipality. It is one of the important local bodies in the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region.
The Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department issued an order notifying the merger of ten-gram panchayats — Undavalli, Penumaka, Prathuru, Vaddeswaram, Ippatam, Mellempudi, Chirravuru, Kunchanapalli, Kolanukonda and Gundemeda of Tadepalli mandal with Tadepalli Municipality. Thus, the town has a population of 99,428 and spans an area of 61.76sq.km.

Administration

The municipality was constituted in the year 2009 and is spread over an area of. Tadepalle municipality and its out growth, Undavalli, are a part of Vijayawada urban agglomeration. The present municipal commissioner of the city is P.Shakuntala.

Civic services

The municipality with the help of Irrigation Department, improves the drinking water, internal roads, supply of electricity and sewerage management.
Projects
Tadepalle is one of the seven municipalities, along with Vijayawada and Guntur Municipal Corporations to be a part of a 15 MW waste-to-energy plant project. It is planned to be set up with the collaboration of the JITF Urban Infrastructure Limited.
