Tadhg an Chomhaid Ó Briain


Tadhg an Chomhaid Ó Briain was King of Thomond from 1459 to his death in 1466.

Reign

He succeeded his father Toirdhealbhach Bóg Ó Briain upon his death in 1459. He collected tribute from O'Neill in 1463. In the summer of 1466 he crossed the Shannon and invaded Desmond. The territories of Clan-William and County Limerick where handed over to him by the Earl to make peace. That same year after having obtained a perpetual tribute of sixty marks yearly from the inhabitants of Limerick, he died of a disease at his own house and was succeeded by his brother Conchubhar na Srona Ó Briain.

He married Annabella Burke, daughter of Ulick Ruadh Burke, Lord of Clanrickarde and by her had issue:
