Takashima, Shiga


Takashima is a city located in Shiga Prefecture, Japan.
On October 1, 2016, the city has an estimated population of 49,168 and a population density of 71 persons per km². The total area is 693 km².
The modern city of Takashima was established on January 1, 2005, from the merger of the former town of Takashima, absorbing the towns of Adogawa, Imazu, Makino and Shin'asahi, and the village of Kutsuki.
