Tallassee City School District
Tallassee City School District or Tallassee City Schools is a school district in Tallassee, Alabama.
Tallassee City Schools serves approximately 2,000 students and employs 120 teachers and support staff in one central office; one high school; one middle school; and one elementary school.
The Superintendent of Tallassee City Schools is Wade Shipman, who was appointed in 2015.History
In 2003 the district enacted a rule stating that students who participate in extracurricular activities are required to submit to random drug testing.
In 2006 Bobby Payne, the mayor of Tallassee, said that some officials from the city government discussed plans for the city to annex some rural areas west of the city limits as a method of keeping those areas within the city school system.Schools
