The Tbilisi Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1993 by Georgian conductor, Jansug Kakhidze. Since 2002, his son Vakhtang Kakhidze has served as the orchestra's artistic director and chief conductor.
Famous pianist, Khatia Buniatishvili, gave her first concert with the Tbilisi Chamber Orchestra at the age of 6. She went on to appear internationally for the first time at age 10.
