Tecate Municipality


Tecate is a municipality in the Mexican state of Baja California. Its municipal seat is located in the city of Tecate. According to the 2010 census, it had a population of 101,079 inhabitants, and according to the 2005 census, it had 91,034 inhabitants. The municipality has an area of 3,079.0 km².

As of 2010, the city of Tecate had a population of 64,764. Other than the city of Tecate, the municipality had 964 localities, the largest of which were: Lomas de Santa Anita, Nueva Colonia Hindú, classified as urban, and Cereso del Hongo, Luis Echeverría Álvarez , classified as urban, and Hacienda Tecate, Valle de las Palmas, La Rumorosa, Maclovio Herrera , Alfonso Garzón , and El Mirador, classified as rural.
