Tedde Moore


Tedde Moore is a Canadian actress who is perhaps best known as Miss Shields in the 1983 film A Christmas Story. She was nominated for a Genie Award at the 5th Genie Awards in 1984 for her acting in the film. She reprised her role in the 1994 film My Summer Story and is the only actor to appear in both films. She also starred in the 2011 film Mistletoe Over Manhattan as Mrs. Claus.

Early life

Tedde Moore is the daughter of Darwina and actor and educator Mavor Moore, the granddaughter of Canadian theatre figure Dora Mavor Moore, and the great-granddaughter of Scottish-born economist James Mavor.

Career

Moore's film credits include Second Wind, for which she won Best Supporting Actress at the Canadian Film Awards, Murder by Decree, The Amateur, Overnight, Rolling Vengeance and Down the Road Again. She won the Canadian Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1976 for Second Wind.

Personal life

Moore is married to Canadian filmmaker Donald Shebib, whom he met through a mutual friend. They had two children plus Moore's daughter from an earlier relationship. Moore later accepted responsibility for Chaunce, a three-year-old girl.
Zoë Carter is a teacher, while Suzanna Shebib is an actress and Noah Shebib, better known as "40", is an actor and music producer.
Moore has five grandchildren.
