Teo Čizmić


Teo Čizmić is a Croatian professional basketball coach and former player. He currently serves as an assistant coach for Cedevita Olimpija of the Slovenian League, the ABA League, and the EuroCup.

Playing career

Čizmić started play basketball in 1986, but he started play for Jugoplastika in 1988. He won three Euroleagues and played with famous Croatian players Velimir Perasović, Dino Rađa and Toni Kukoč. He finished his career in 2006.

Coaching career

Čizmić was an assistant coach of Split of the Croatian League. In 2006–07 season Split was advanced to the semifinals, but it lost. In 2007–08 season Split played ABA League, and was in the Croatian League final, but lost. He left Split in 2009. After he left Split, in 2009, he became a head coach of Romanian Basketball League team Steaua Bucuresti, with whom in 2009–10 season, he advanced to the playoffs. In the next season, Steaua Bucuresti played EuroChallenge, but after poor results Čizmić was sacked. For one season he was the assistant coach to Veljko Mršić in Cibona. In 2012, he was named the head coach of Polish Basketball League team AZS Koszalin. He left club in 2013. In 2015, he became the head coach of Hungarian club BC Körmend. In 2017, he was named the coach of Hungarian club Atomeromu SE. He left club in June 2018, because he became the assistant coach of Cedevita under the coaching staff of Slaven Rimac.

Personal life

His son is the basketball player, Leo Čizmić.
