Teo Lucas Halm is an American actor, songwriter and record producer. He co-wrote Latin Grammy-winning song "Con altura" by Rosalía and two songs from the Grammy-nominated album : "Mood 4 Eva" performed by Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Childish Gambino, and "Scar", performed by 070 Shake and Jessie Reyez. Halm starred in the 2014 movie Earth to Echo and has roles in the independent feature films Memoria and Spiral Farm.
Life and career
Teo Halm was born in Los Angeles, California. His mother's family is from France and Morocco and his father is Australian, with British/Czech forebears. Halm grew up performing in theater, doing The Sound of Music and The Music Man. His father posted a picture of Halm on the talent website newfaces.com, attracting the attention of a producer for the PBS series Nova. In 2009 he was cast as a Neanderthal boy. In 2010 he was hired to play "Will Campbell" a fictitious UCLA spokesperson in a fund-raising e-solicitation to UCLA alumni. In 2012 Halm played the lead in a short coming of age film, Waltham Vanguard, written and directed by Bill Barker, Halm played opposite Jaime P. Gomez of Nash Bridges fame. In 2013 he was cast in the Disney ChannelBoy Meets World follow-up series Girl Meets World as Elliot, the son of Cory and Topanga. He shot the pilot, but his character was dropped from the series. In 2014 he starred as vulnerable foster child Alex in the sci-fi fantasy film Earth to Echo receiving the Best Actor award at the 9th Annual PICK Awards for his performance. He will play Frank Sullivan, Charles Bukowski's childhood best friend, in the upcoming James Franco-directed movie Bukowski. He was also cast in a supporting lead role as Alex, in the movie Memoria which premiered at the Austin Film FestivalOctober 29, 2015. with a 2016 release in North America with distribution by Monterey Media. In 2018 Halm played the role of Theo in the independent feature film Spiral Farm which premiered at Slamdance Film Festival, January 26, 2019 in Park City, Utah. It is nominated for Best Narrative Feature. In 2017, Halm sought an internship with record producer Michael Uzowuru. Instead, Uzowuru facilitated him getting an internship with producer Mark Ronson, while maintaining a friend/mentor role in Halm's life. Halm has had an impressive 2019, co-writing the Latin Grammy-winning song "Con altura" by Rosalia and co-writing and co-producing "Mood 4 Eva" by Beyoncé, Jay-Z and Childish Gambino, from the Grammy-nominated album .
