Terry Wynn
Terence Wynn is a former British Labour Party politician who served as a Member of the European Parliament from 1989 to 2009.
Born in Wigan, Wynn was educated at Leigh College, Riversdale College, Liverpool Polytechnic and Salford University. He became a marine engineer, and later worked as a training adviser to the shipbuilding industry. He also became active in the Labour Party, serving on Wigan Metropolitan Borough Council from 1979 until 1990.
Wynn was a member of the European Parliament between 1989 and 1994 for Merseyside East and between 1994 and 1999 for Merseyside East and Wigan. He chaired the European Parliamentary Labour Party from 1992 until 1995.
In 1999 he was elected on the regional list until his resignation in 2006.
He used to work in the Merchant Navy and is a Methodist local preacher in Wigan.
