The Flight Attendant (TV series)


The Flight Attendant is an upcoming American web television miniseries created by actress and producer Kaley Cuoco, and will premiere on HBO Max. The show will be based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Chris Bohjalian.

Synopsis

Flight attendant Cassandra Bowden wakes in her hotel room hungover from the night before in Dubai with a dead body lying next to her. Afraid to call the police, she continues her morning as if nothing happened, joining the other flight attendants and pilots traveling to the airport. In New York, she is met by FBI agents who question her about her recent layover in Dubai. Still unable to piece the night together, she wonders if she could be the killer.

Development

On October 27, 2017, it was announced that Kaley Cuoco's production company, Yes, Norman Productions, had optioned the rights to the novel, The Flight Attendant. The novel will be developed into a limited television series with Cuoco to star and executive-produce. On July 1, 2019, it was announced that Greg Berlanti had joined the series as an executive producer through Berlanti Productions. On July 1, 2019, it was announced that the series will join WarnerMedia's upcoming streaming service, HBO Max.

Casting

In September 2019, Sonoya Mizuno was cast to star alongside Cuoco. In October, Michiel Huisman, Colin Woodell, Rosie Perez and Zosia Mamet joined the cast of the series. In November 2019, Merle Dandridge, Griffin Matthews and T. R. Knight joined the cast of the series. In December 2019, Nolan Gerard Funk joined the cast. Bebe Neuwirth was added in a recurring role in February 2020.

Filming

Filming began in December 2019 in White Plains, New York. On March 12, 2020, Warner Bros. Television shut down production on the series due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
