The Lukas


The LUKAS, The London-based annual Latin Entertainment Awards, is Europe's only awards ceremony to celebrate the global impact of Latino culture as Latin music, dance, arts and sports.

History

The LUKAS was founded by Argentinian Amaranta Wright and Venezuelan Jose Luis Seijas in 2013. Amaranta Wright was born in Buenos Aires and then grew up in North London. In 2012 she founded LatinoLife, UK's leading Latino lifestyle magazine in print and online. Jose Luis Seijas was born in Caracas and arrived in London 20 years ago to become the city's leading Latin events promoter. Often referred to as 'Europe's answer to The Latin Grammys' is covered by more than 90 press, radio and TV stations across the UK, Europe, the US and Latin America each year and reaches out to an approximate audience of 18 million people. Previous editions include winners as Antonio Valencia, Bianca Jagger, Carlos Acosta, Concha Buika, Chicharito Hernandez, Fernando Montaño, Gente de Zona, Grupo Niche, Juan Luis Gerra, Luis Suarez, Manuel Turizo, Marc Anthony, Odaline de la Martinez, Ossie Ardiles, Phil Manzanera, Tamara Rojo, Thiago Soares and Vivienne Westwood among others.
